Sydney’s top pool builder, Blue Haven Pools & Spas celebrates another milestone as they reach the 50-year benchmark of staying in the pool industry, and still staying relevant.
The company started in 1973 when Mr Ray Awadallah began producing and installing vinyl-lined above-ground pools in Yennora, New South Wales. A true family man who enjoyed being outdoors, Mr Awadallah immediately grabbed the opportunity to deliver pools to sun-loving Sydneysiders as a way to provide for his family.
Through a combination of hardwork, innovation, and strong leadership, Blue Haven Pools became one of Australia’s most respected industry leaders. They pioneered multiple world firsts in the pool building industry including:
The first vinyl pool that received local government Development Application (DA) approval
The first ribbed fibreglass pool that did not require a steel and concrete bond beam to hold it in ground
The first saltwater pool for above-ground pools
To date, the company has won over 350,000 industry awards and built over 70,000 pools. And whilst COVID-19 was a tough time, their efforts to maintain a strong relationship amongst their contractors and local suppliers have helped them navigate the impediment in the building and construction industry.
In 2011, Mr Awadallah’s daughter, Ms Remonda Martinez, took over Blue Haven Pools. Upholding the same values as her parents, she transitioned Blue Haven to be the first and only pool builder in the world to sell custom concrete pools online. She wanted to help homeowners own a pool easily and risk-free by digitising the buying journey thus helping them save time, money, and effort. This has naturally set a new benchmark in the industry.
Ms Martinez also invested so many resources into new construction equipment and 3D animation, visual and AR technology so homeowners can enjoy a seamless experience and avoid consumer reluctance.
This 2022, Blue Haven Pools has made waves once again as they renovated their Lansvale warehouse, head office, and showroom. Led by Blue Haven’s General Manager Mr Richie Hamawi, the team renovated their 10,000 sqm showroom in Lansvale to truly immerse their customers in the ultimate sensory experience with state-of-the-art Sydney pools and Poolside Pizza Pavillion, which features indoor and alfresco dining and boutique retail options. The goal was to bring dining, fashion, and shopping into one location.
The newly revamped Showroom won gold in New South Wales and a national award at the 2022 SPASA Awards of Excellence.
