Speaking to Sydney finance expert Queenie Tan on TikTok, Belinda said one of the “easiest ways” to freshen up your property is to simply change the light fittings.
To improve the look of your kitchen, she said replacing the old cabinet handles can instantly change the vibe of the atmosphere.
“Put new hardware on your kitchen cabinetry joinery,” she said.
Whether you’re looking to sell your property or give your space a makeover, Belinda explained how a fresh coat of paint can go a long way.
“It hides a lot of imperfections,” she said.
“So people actually don’t mind the smell of paint when they come to buy your home because it means they don’t have to do it themselves.
“It will make the home feel brighter and it will cover up just a lot of things in your home that you don’t want them to see.”
In July, Belinda revealed three things that are “nice to have” but “don’t add any value to your home”.
“First is a wine cellar. If you have an average house in suburbia, chances are no one is going to pay more above market value just because you have a wine cellar,” she said.
“Number two is ducted vacuum cleaners. They’re expensive to install and add little to no value. I’ve got two products for you: ‘Little round robot vacuum cleaners and cordless vacuum cleaners.
“And number three is converting your garage to an additional accommodation. If you don’t have council approval then it is worthless because it is uninhabitable. And chances are it would be worth more as a double garage than a converted space.”
